I watched the movie of “Children Who Chase Lost Voices” because I heard that it was a story taking over “Goodbye Pyramid Hat”.
Although I had never seen this director’s work before, the pictures, colors and sceneries are so beautiful.
In order to fully understand the movie, it would be better to read “Goodbye Pyramid Hat” first and then watch the film.
There are people who are calling to each other from this side and the other side, and they draw to each other.
The girl cherishes the Agartha stone as a memento of her father, and her father might have come from Agartha, or the girl might have had such a person in her ancestors.
The film is a celebration, a praise of life.
After seeing this film, I believe that we cannot take our own lives or anyone else’s lives for granted.
More than 40 years after the publication of “Goodbye Pyramid Hat” major protracted wars continue. Extreme weather has also intensified.
Ms. Otsukotsu’s message has been carried forward and been resounding anew throughout the world.
